COMMUNITY STREET CRIME UNIT ARRESTS WANTED PEMBROKE MAN
(PEMBROKE, ON) – On November 1, 2018 the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a Pembroke man wanted on a bench warrant in relation to drug and weapons charges stemming from an incident in Pembroke from May 2018. CSCU members located the male on Miller Street in the City of Pembroke. The male fled on foot from police. He was located and arrested a short time later at a nearby residence.
As a result 39-year-old Dion RANGER is charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code (CC) charges:
- Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Fail to comply with undertaking
- Fail to attend court
He also faces the following outstanding CDSA and CC charges from May 2018 in the City of Pembroke:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order – two counts
- Possession of a schedule I substance - hydromorphone
He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until his next court appearance on November 7, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
