Public Works Administrative Assistant

Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Public Works Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is providing administrative, financial and clerical services for the Township’s Public Works & Property Department. The Township of Laurentian Valley is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Works Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time permanent position. We are looking for a responsible, self-motivated and professional individual to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.


Position Qualifications:


  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in Administration or Business.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a progressive administration role or an equivalency of experience and training
  • Previous experience in a Municipal Environment would be considered an asset.
  • Computer literacy required particularly with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with various members of the public.
  • Knowledge of Computerized accounting and payroll systems would be considered an asset.


Compensation: (2022 rates): $51,346.35 - $59,792.99 (35 hours per week, plus a competitive benefit package).
