OPP REMIND RESIDENTS: DO NOT DEPOSIT SNOW ON ROADWAYS
(PEMBROKE, ON) – With the recent heavy snowfall the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind all residents that the law prohibits depositing snow on roadways. The Highway Traffic Act (HTA) prohibits the depositing of snow or ice on a public roadway and carries a total fine of $110. Municipal by-laws may also prohibit such action by residents. Depositing snow or ice on a roadway can create a hazard for all road users. Be courteous to others and deposit your snow onto your own property.
