UPPER OTTAWA VALLEY OPP FESTIVE R.I.D.E. PROGRAM – WEEK ONE RESULTS
(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) 2018 Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign commenced on November 23, 2018 and will run until January 2, 2019. During the first week of the campaign from November 23 to November 29, 2018 officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP conducted 34 RIDE checks throughout the detachment area. As a result of a roadside test one driver was issued a three day license suspension. No impaired driving or over 80mg charges were reported as a result of the RIDE campaign.
Criminal Code (CC) driving charges were laid after the OPP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the City of Pembroke shortly after midnight on November 23, 2018. A short time after the call, police located the male driver and vehicle on Nelson Street in Pembroke and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation Christopher Charles PLOURDE, age 30 of Petawawa, was arrested and charged with the following CC offences:

Impaired driving – alcohol

Driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in his blood
In the late afternoon of November 26, 2018, the OPP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the City of Pembroke. A short time after the call, police located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Moss Drive in the City of Pembroke. The male driver of vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation Devon GRAHAM, age 26 of Pembroke, was arrested and charged with the following CC offences:

Impaired driving – alcohol

Care and control with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood
Each accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days. Both males were released from police custody and are scheduled to appear on December 18, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
