(PEMBROKE, ON) – On December 10, 2018, at just after 630pm, members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Boundary Road in the City of Pembroke. A westbound passenger vehicle collided with an eastbound pickup truck when the driver of the passenger vehicle attempted a turn. A third vehicle was struck by debris from the collision. The drivers of both the passenger vehicle and pickup truck were transported to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation the 17-year-old female driver of the passenger car was charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with left turn – fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision. The 22-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was also charged under the HTA with improper tires. Due to the collision Boundary Road was closed between Paul Martin Drive and Bennett Street for approximately one hour.
