OPP INVESTIGATE SERIOUS COLLISION ON GREENWOOD ROAD
(WHITEWATER REGION, ON) – Officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle rollover collision at approximately 330am on August 5 , 2018. The collision occurred on Greenwood Road near Highway 17 in Whitewater Region Township. The four-door passenger vehicle was eastbound on Greenwood Road when it left the roadway and rolled onto its roof. Prior to the collision on Greenwood Road near Highway 17, the vehicle had left the roadway near the intersection of Beachburg Road and Greenwood Road. The driver, a 42-year-old man from Deep River, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
As a result of the collision a portion of Greenwood Road was closed until approximately 730pm on August 5, 2018. OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members are assisting with the investigation. Police suspect alcohol was a factor in the collision and the incident remains under investigation.
