Canada Day Home Decorating Contest Results

Laurentian Valley, ON. Residents of the Township of Laurentian Valley showcased their national pride by decorating their homes with the red and white Canada Day colours for a chance to win some prizes.

To participate in the decorating contest, residents had to decorate their windows, doors and front façades with a patriotic Canada Day theme and send the Township a picture of the front of their home.

Laurentian Valley – On Saturday, the Township of Laurentian Valley welcomed members of the public to the Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of its newly constructed splash pad. Local MPP John Yakabuski and OTF Grant Review Team member Ray Westgarth were on hand to congratulate the Township and hear more about how the $148,000 Capital grant is making a difference for children of all ages and abilities.

It is that time of year again! Once again, the LV Gnome will be hanging out in 5 different locations of the Township for you to find and discover starting, Monday, July 13, 2020 for a 5 week period. This year we will be recognizing some of the recipients of the 2019 Community Improvement Plan grants. Toilets are not Trash Cans - Think before you flush

It is understandable in this time of response to COVID-19, that additional cleaning efforts and use of different cleaning items are taking place. The use of cleaning wipes has expanded exponentially.

Township/City sanitary sewer systems are not designed to dispose of anything beyod human waste, toilet paper and wastewater.

It is extremely important that everyday items such as hygiene products, wipes and cleaning materials and rubber gloves do not get flushed or poured down the sewer system.

2020 Load Restrictions - Lifted May 11, 2020

All roads under the Township of Laurentian Valley’s jurisdiction are under load restrictions (half loads) from March 1 to May 31 annually except for the road included in the list below. Although Township By-Law states that load restrictions run from March 1 to May 31, the Township may shorten or extend the time frame, dependent on weather.
