NOTICE OF ADOPTION
OF AN OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT BY
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAURENTIAN VALLEY

TAKE NOTICE that Council of the Corporation of the Township of Laurentian Valley passed By-law No. 2019-09-042, thereby adopting Official Plan Amendment No.14 (OPA No. 14) to the Official Plan of the Township of Laurentian Valley on the 15th day of September, 2020, in accordance with Sections 17 and 21 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended.

PURPOSE & EFFECT OF OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT  NO. 14  (OPA NO. 14) File O-2020-01

The purpose of Official Plan Amendment Number Fourteen (OPA#14) is redesignate a portion of the subject property to permit aggregate extraction and allow a proposed gravel pit on the entire holding  The majority of the subject property is already designated Mineral Aggregate Resource.  An application for Aggregate Licence has also been filed with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) and the public meeting required under the Aggregates Act was held on July 29, 2019.  A concurrent application for Zoning By-law Amendment (File No. Z2020-04) has also been passed by Council.

The effect of the Amendment is to redesignate the subject lands from “Rural” to “Mineral Aggregate Resource”.

LOCATION OF AMENDMENT

The lands affected by the Amendments are part of Part 3 on Plan 49R-17637, within Part Lot 23, Concession 12, geographic Township of Alice, in the Township of Laurentian Valley, as shown on the Key Map. Please note, the subject lands do not have direct frontage on a municipal road however, legal access is via a registered right-of-way over abutting lands known municipally as 207 Lubitz Road.

EFFECT OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON DECISION

All written and oral submissions received on the proposed amendment were considered by Council in the decision-making process and no changes were made to the amendment as proposed.

A COPY of the proposed Official Plan Amendment and any additional related information is available for inspection by contacting the Township office at 613-735-6291 during regular office hours or by emailing nsargent@lvtownship.ca quoting File No. O2020-01 (OPA # 14) and arrangements will be made to provide you with a copy of any requested materials by mail or email or due to COVID-19 measures, by arranging a special appointment if necessary at the Township office.  Alternatively, as the County of Renfrew is the Approval Authority you may also contact the County of Renfrew Planning Department as indicated below for any materials related to the Amendment.  Please note: The County of Renfrew has implemented proactive measures to limit further transmission of the Coronavirus, known as COVID-19. Currently they are offering services by telephone and email, as the County facilities are closed to walk in traffic.
