    Starting January 1, 2026, Ontario will transition to
    an enhanced recycling system

    Laurentian Valley residents will have expanded recycling options starting January 1, 2026 as part of Ontario's Enhanced Recycling System. 

    At this time there will be no changes to your collection schedule.

    Proposed Sanitary Pumping Station on Hwy 148/Drive-In Rd - DCR Addendum Filing

    PROPOSED SANITARY PUMPING STATION ON HIGHWAY 148 (intersection of Drive In Road and Pembroke Street East) – DCR Addendum Filing – comments received until October 25, 2025

    The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Parsons Inc. have completed the Design and Construction Report (DCR) Addendum for the Detail Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study, which includes the addition of a new sanitary pumping station at 127 Drive-In Road.

    Updated Watering Restrictions Effective Immediately
    The Township of Laurentian Valley would like to take this opportunity to remind users of the Township’s Municipal Water System that the Water Restriction By-Law is in effect from May 15th to September 15th, 2025.
    Due to the extreme dry conditions, please help us conserve water where possible to avoid further restrictions being applied.

    Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for all of Renfrew County and District. A significant heat event with dangerously hot and humid conditions will begin Sunday afternoon and is expected to continue until at least Tuesday.

    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 

    There is an OPEN-AIR FIRE BAN in the Township of Laurentian Valley. No open-air fires will be permitted.

    2025 Draft Budget

    The Township of Laurentian Valley has officially undertaken its second sitting of the 2025 budget deliberations and would like to communicate with the public the draft budget which will now be open for comments, with a final public meeting on Tuesday December 3rd.

    Like many other municipalities in Ontario, we have experienced large increases in the cost of doing business and operations in general.

    Canada Post Strike

    Canada Post Strike - Important Information

    Due to the Canada Postal Strike, and the work stoppage that began on November 15, mail will be delayed to the Township of Laurentian Valley.
    However, residents are reminded this will not permit late payments as there are still several options available to the public to make payments including:
    Online Banking
    Payment at your bank
    Payment at the office with Cash/Debit/Cheque.
