    Eligible community organizations are welcome to apply for up to $2500 in support from the Township of Laurentian Valley.

  • Notice of Construction - Forest Lea Road

    The Township of Laurentian Valley advises that our Public Works division will soon be making road improvements in your neighborhood. This project includes the rehabilitation of Forest Lea Road.


    The project involves the rehabilitation of the roadway and drainage improvements which include the following works:

    • Full depth reclamation of the asphalt road surface
    • Replenishment of granular road base material
    • Ditching works where required
    • Repaving of the roadway
    • Shouldering of the new roadway

     

  • NOTICE - Temporary Road Closure - Zanders Road

    TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - Zanders Road
    Please be advised of a Temporary Road Closure within the Township of Laurentian Valley. Effective Thursday August 20, 2026, at 7am, Zanders Road is closed between B Line Road and Doran Road CR26 for a crossroad culvert replacement.


    Civic addresses between 1 to 109 can be accessed from B Line Road. Civic addresses 110 and up can be accessed from Doran Road.No through traffic, including emergency vehicles, will be permitted in the work area which is located between 109 and 110 Zanders Road.

    It is anticipated that the road will reopen Thursday August 20, 2026, by 7pm.

  • Notification of Construction Activities - Hwy 148 Rehabilitation

    Please be advised that Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. (TCCL) is scheduled to transition to 
    a Staged Construction Configuration beginning Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. As part of this transition, the travel lanes along Pembroke Street East (Hwy 148) will be shifted 
    southerly onto the previously constructed temporary asphalt widening.

    Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and follow all posted signage, pavement 
    markings, and temporary traffic control measures while travelling through the construction area.

  • NOTICE OF NIGHT WORK: HIGHWAY 148

    To Whom It May Concern, Thomas Cavanagh Construction Ltd. (TCCL) has been contracted by the Ministry of Transportation to complete the rehabilitation of Highway 148 from 300 m west of Angus Campbell Drive to 350 m east of the Greenwood Road intersection, as well as Greenwood Road from the Highway 148 intersection southerly for approximately 1.18 km.

    To facilitate the removal and replacement of a prefabricated box culvert, TCCL will be conducting continuous 24-hour construction operations for a period of five (5) days at the intersection of Greenwood Road and Highway 148 commencing Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

    During this period, traffic will be reduced to a single lane of traffic under continuous flagging operations.

    We recognize that overnight construction activities may cause inconvenience to nearby residents, businesses, and motorists. We sincerely apologize for any disruption this work may create and appreciate your patience, cooperation, and understanding as we complete these important infrastructure improvements.     2026 Spring Load Restrictions

    Pursuant to Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act and applicable Municipal By-Laws, reduced load limits on roads throughout the Township of Laurentian Valley will be in effect commencing March 9, 2026, and extending until May 31, 2026.

    Vehicle loads will be restricted to 5 tonnes per axle on those roads where signs have been erected.
