On September 9, 2025, River Pointe officially celebrated the ground breaking of Laurentian Valley newest master planned community. This vibrant new neighbourhood is set to bring nearly 1,000 new homes to a growing community. Nestled along the river behind the community's retail hub, River Pointe blends natural beauty with everyday conveniences. The community will offer scenic trails, riverfront views, and easy access to schools including Algonquin College, and shopping — all while addressing the region’s pressing demand for housing.

Valued at approximately $80 million, the project features a mix of semi-detached and stacked townhomes, with the first homes expected to welcome residents in May 2026. With over 80% of Phase 1 already sold, River Pointe is one of Ontario’s fastest-selling new home communities and a model of how smaller cities can tackle the housing crisis with affordability, growth, and opportunity.

River Pointe is about more than building houses – it’s about creating a place where people can truly feel at home,” said Terence Davids, one of the project partners. “We’re proud to bring new housing opportunities that will help keep families here in the Valley while welcoming new ones into our community.”

The ground breaking ceremony drew strong local support, with Mayor Steve Bennett, Reeve Watt, municipal staff, and community partners in attendance. Representatives from BMO, JP2G Engineers, and the River Pointe development team — Mitch Williams, Michael Colosimo, and Terence Davids — also joined in marking the milestone.

“This is a major step forward for Laurentian Valley,” said Mayor Bennett. “River Pointe brings much-needed housing, creates local jobs, and reinforces the Ottawa Valley’s reputation as one of Ontario’s best places to live.”

Why River Pointe Matters

  • Demand & Growth: Over 80% of Phase 1 is already sold – making River Pointe one of the fastest-selling new home communities in Ontario.
  • Housing Crisis Solution: A case study in how smaller Ontario cities are delivering affordability, community growth, and investment opportunity.
  • Flexible Living Options: Freehold detached and semi-detached 3-bedroom bungalows available, with an optional 2-bed legal basement suite for just $69,900 more – a rare chance to pair home ownership with dual-income potential.
  • Rental Demand: With Canada’s largest military base nearby, vacancy rates in the Township of Laurentian Valley remain at historic lows (0.7%–1.5%), fueling steady investor and homebuyer interest.

River Pointe is more than a development — it’s a community taking shape on the banks of the Ottawa River.
