Graphic with the next large item collection importance notice.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: June 28, 2023

We wish to advise residents that the Spring Large Item Collection is complete. This endeavour was a challenge for our Collection Contractor – over 175 residential addresses were tagged for non-acceptable items (tires, carboard boxes, small items placed in garbage bags, glass, toilets, vanities, drywall, doors, lumber, propane tanks etc.) and for not sorting their items into four (4) separate piles (one for scrap metal and non-freon metal appliances, one for freon appliances, one for acceptable large household items, and one for electronic waste). Further, some residents kept putting items out for collection when it was already passed their designated collection day. We can all do better.

The Township will be collaborating with our Collection Contractor and partnering municipalities to prepare educational materials in advance of the Large Item Collection in September. We thank our residents for your patience and continued cooperation as we move forward collectively.

If a resident still has unacceptable items curbside from the Spring 2023 Collection, they are required to be removed and properly disposed of immediately. Failure to remove these items may result in a fine of $150 as per the Township Waste Collection By-law 05-05-248, as amended by By-laws 07-08-353, 08-02-381 and 2021-11-060.
