Laurentian Valley – On Saturday, the Township of Laurentian Valley welcomed members of the public to the Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of its newly constructed splash pad. Local MPP John Yakabuski and OTF Grant Review Team member Ray Westgarth were on hand to congratulate the Township and hear more about how the $148,000 Capital grant is making a difference for children of all ages and abilities.

Laurentian Valley has a balance of small urban and rural areas with a beautiful natural heritage found in many forests, rivers and lakes throughout the Township.
Laurentian Valley also has an abundance of Crown lands within its boundaries, which border on Algonquin Park and offers easy access to excellent hunting and fishing and recreational trails (snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, etc)
The Township has approximately 20 kilometres of Ottawa River frontage and includes the geographic townships of Pembroke, Stafford, Alice and Fraser. Township embodies and encourages an active healthy lifestyle.
The family friendly splash pad will feature 16 spray features covering a 2187 sq. ft. area. The splash pad will include accessible age-progressive play areas throughout the site that will be spaced out in a manner that will allow for greater safety and easier supervision.
The Stafford Park splash pad is free to use and will be open 7 days a week from 9 am – 8 pm.
