Once again, the LV Gnome will be hanging out in 5 different locations of the Township for you to find and discover starting, Monday, July 13, 2020 for a 5 week period. This year we will be recognizing some of the recipients of the 2019 Community Improvement Plan grants. The Community Improvement Plan is a matching grant program for Laurentian Valley business owners to undertake certain types of eligible building and property improvements.
Each Monday, a new location (with coordinates) will be posted on the Township Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lvtownship.ca) from July 13 to August 16, 2020. Gnomie will be hiding at a new Laurentian Valley Business location for 7 days (one week) at a time. To play for a chance to win some great prizes, go to the business location, find Gnomie and take a selfie with him! Send your name and selfie to us via Facebook messenger and qualify to win weekly prizes or the GRAND Prize of a stand up paddle board. To enter the draw for the grand prize, participants must send the Township at least 4 selfies (so find the gnome in 4 different business locations). The GRAND PRIZE DRAW will be held on August 19, 2020 on the Township’s Facebook page. The contest is open to residents and non-residents of all ages. Please remember to respect physical distancing and follow all public health recommendations related to COVID-19. Gnomie will be hiding somewhere on the property somewhere outside the building, but don’t be afraid to check out what the business has to offer while you are there!
Last summer saw close to 1000 selfie entries with lucky weekly winners including: Cole Byers, Destiny Demers, Samm Robinson, Vienna Kerr and Mikayla Matasich. For the Grand Prize draw, there were 79 participants who found the LV GNOME at least 4 times. Paul Tyson was the lucky participant to win last year’s kayak grand prize.
