Laurentian Valley, ON. Residents of the Township of Laurentian Valley showcased their national pride by decorating their homes with the red and white Canada Day colours for a chance to win some prizes.

To participate in the decorating contest, residents had to decorate their windows, doors and front façades with a patriotic Canada Day theme and send the Township a picture of the front of their home.

The contest saw 15 submissions that Township Council Members judged to narrow it down to the Top 5 finalists with included submissions from Jessica Daigle, Abby Knight, Tracy Behm and Robert & Elaine Edwards and Sue O’Meara. These Top 5 entries where then put into a draw for a Napoleon BBQ with the lucky winner being Sue O’Meara.

“I would like to thank all those who participated and made our community a bit more colourful on Canada Day, showing their Canadian pride”, said Mayor, Steve Bennett.

The Napoleon BBQ was generously donated by Raymond LaHay, Owner and Operator of LaHay Mechanical, Authorized Napoleon Premier Dealer.
