Media Release: Office Closure effective April 12

Immediate release: April 8, 2021

Laurentian Valley, ON - The Province of Ontario announced its third state-of-emergency since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, and issued a stay-at-home order effective April 8, 2021. In response to these restrictions, the Township of Laurentian Valley Municipal Office will be closed to the general public until further notice effective Monday, April 12th, 2021. Essential visits will be accommodated by appointment only.  Throughout this situation, the Township’s goal is to safeguard the continuity of Laurentian Valley services that support the safety and well-being of our residents while ensuring the health and safety of our employees.

In an abundance of caution and to help ensure the continued delivery of critical services to its residents, staff will be working remotely whenever possible, except when the nature of their work requires them to be on-site. All staff continue to be available during regular business hours by phone or email to address resident questions and concerns. To speak to a staff member, please call       613-735-6291 or email info@lvtownship.ca between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Our Public Works department will continue to ensure all services and road maintenance continues as usual.

Council will remain meeting over Zoom and will continue to be livestreamed via our YouTube channel. Meetings will follow our regular schedule: Council in Committee the first Tuesday of the month and Council Meeting the third Tuesday of each month.

To ensure a seamless process, residents are encouraged to utilize our services through the following means:

  • Tax and Water Payments can be completed through your online bank
  • Pet licences and burning permits can be purchased online
  • Duplicate bills, tax receipts, and water statements can be requested and paid online
  • Documents and payments can be delivered to the Township by utilizing the secure mail slot to the left of the municipal office door or by regular mail.
  • Residents are encouraged to set up their Pre-Authorized Payment Plans to facilitate a simple payment process for property tax and utility invoices
  • All garbage and recycling collection will continue to be picked up as scheduled
