On the evening of February 15, 2018 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a shoplifting incident in progress at the Walmart in Laurentian Valley Township.

On January 17, 2018 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence in Laurentian Valley Township.  

Jan 11 - OPP Quickly Make Arrest After Vehicle Reported Stolen

Within minutes of stealing the vehicle the suspect returned the vehicle to the hotel parking lot and was subsequently arrested by police.

Drivers are required to move over and leave one lane between their vehicle and the emergency vehicle when it can be done safely.

On the morning of December 12, 2017 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP began investigating after a commercial delivery van was reported stolen during the overnight hours from the gated outdoor storage area of Smitty’s Home Hardware on Pembroke Street West in Laurentian Valley Township.

A candlelight vigil was held today at the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Headquarters, paying tribute to the 14 women who were murdered at École Polytechnique de Montreal, as well as each and every woman in Ontario whose lives have been harmed or lost to gender-based violence.

December 4 - Stuff a Cruiser Results

On Saturday December 2, 2017 the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit held their 10th annual “Stuff a Cruiser” event to collect funds, food and toys for those in need.

On December 01, 2017 auxiliary OPP officers conducted checks of vehicles parked at several locations including the Pembroke Mall, Petawawa Market Mall and Pembroke’s West End Mall.

The OPP Canine Team has become an elite team of specialized personel who are highly respected among agencies accross North America for their exceptional police work. 

November 30 - OPP Charge two Pembroke Men After Break and Enter

The investigation led police to a residence on an adjacent street where police located several stolen items.  Two men at the residence were arrested and charged as a result.

November 30 - Stolen Firearms Recovered After OPP Execute Search Warrant

As a result of the search warrant police located and seized several firearms that had been reported stolen from a residence in North Algona-Wilberforce Township in October 2017.

November 28 - Firearm Stolen After Break-In at Residence in Pembroke

The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a break, enter and theft at a residence on Moffat Street in the City of Pembroke that was reported on the evening of November 22, 2017. 

November 28 - Update: Poppy Fund Stolen from Pembroke Convenience Stores

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a Pembroke man after money was stolen from poppy sales boxes at two Mac’s Convenience stores in the City of Pembroke in mid-November.  The same man was also charged with a recent theft of merchandise from Staples in the Pembroke Mall.

November 27 - 21st Annual Christmas Angel Program

The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is once again participating in the Christmas Angel Tree Program.  Christmas trees in both the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachments at 1913 Petawawa Blvd., Petawawa, and 77 International Drive, Pembroke will have a number of “Angels” on them.  Each “Angel” represents a less fortunate child in our community.  

November 27 - 10th Annual Stuff a Cruiser Event

On Saturday December 2, 2017 from 1030am to 3pm the Auxiliary Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be holding their Tenth annual “Stuff a Cruiser” event to collect food and toys for those in need this holiday season.
