Our Community

The former Townships of Stafford-Pembroke and the Township of Alice and Fraser amalgamated on January 1, 2000 to create the Township of Laurentian Valley. The Township of Laurentian Valley surrounds the City of Pembroke and is south of the Town of Petawawa.  According to 2011 Census Statistics, the Township has a population of 9,647.

Community Lending Hub

The Township of Laurentian Valley has installed a basketball court and tennis/badminton court on the Shady Nook rink surface for residents to utilize. 

The Township of Laurentian Valley currently has the following equipment available to lend out:

  • Snowshoes - Assortment of sizes
  • Ice Skates - Assortment of sizes
  • Childrens bicycles and helmets - Assortment of sizes

This equipment is currently stored at the Municipal Office at 460 Witt Road, Pembroke, ON.

To take part in the sport equipment lending hub, you must be a resident of Laurentian Valley and must fill out Lending Hub Rental Form. Residents will also be required to provide photo ID to complete the Lending Hub Rental Form. Must be 18 years and older to complete the form.

In the spring of 2017 a shed will be installed at the Shady Nook Recreation Centre and at the Stafford Park that will house sports equipment and residents will be able to gain access to the shed through a key signed out at the municipal office.

A partnership in community policing involves the police and the community working together to resolve mutual issues, which contribute to or maintain social order. Communities and their community policing committees, choose the level at which they wish to participate with their police. Therefore, these partnerships may vary from community to community.

Pet Licences

Pet tags for dogs and cats are available at the Municipal Office and online for purchase. Receive a discount if purchased before March 31st.
