Garbage and Recyclable materials are collected on a biweekly basis. One week, blue box (paper) and green cart (food waste) are collected, the alternate week the yellow Triple “R” container (glass, plastic, metal, Styrofoam, etc.) and regular garbage are collected. Download the Curbside Garbage and Recyclable 2013-2014 Collection Schedule, to find out your pick-up day and what material is being collected.

Each residential unit is permitted to place curbside, a maximum of three (3) garbage bags or garbage cans with a maximum weight of any item not exceeding 50 lbs. (23 kg).

Please make sure you are placing the correct materials in the correct container on the proper collection day.  This will avoid a situation where your waste or recycling is not picked up by the Township Contractor.  Container Recycling is to be placed loose in the yellow Triple "R" container or other open top containers such as laundry baskets or Rubbermaid totes. Container Recycling is not acceptable in bags. This includes large clear/blue bags and small bags within Triple “R” container. Plastic bags of plastic bags are acceptable (bread, produce, outside milk bags, blue newspaper bags and grocery/retail bags-stuff all bags into one). Paper recycling is to be placed loose in the blue box. Additional paper items can be placed in a cardboard box, paper bag or other reusable open top container. Shredded paper in a clear plastic bag is acceptable. Cardboard must to flattened or bundled and be no larger than 2ft x 3ft (0.61m x 0.91m).

Placing a layer of newspaper on the grate in the bottom of the cart or using a paper leaf and yard waste bag may assist in keeping the cart cleaner. Wrapping food waste in newspaper during winter months also aids in preventing materials from freezing in the cart. Plastics of any kind including compostable and biodegradable plastics are not acceptable in the green cart.

Special Bulky Item Garbage Collection is held in the Spring and Fall. Please see the Collection Calendar for dates and restrictions.

Leaf and Yard Waste Special Collection is held on various dates throughout the year. Please view the Collection Calendar for dates and restrictions.

Placement for Collection Containers – Residents are reminded to place garbage, recycling and green cart collection items in the driveway five (5) feet back from the curb line or edge of pavement. This is especially important during the winter to allow for snow removal operations.

Collection containers must be placed curbside before 5:00 a.m. on the day of collection. They can also be placed out the night before, after 7:00 p.m.
