PURPOSE, EFFECT & LOCATION OF OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT (OPA No. 13) - File No. O-2018-01

The purpose of proposed OPA No. 13 to the Official Plan of the Township of Laurentian Valley is to permit a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) in the Township of Laurentian Valley.  The Township has initiated the process of preparing a CIP and it was determined that it was necessary to update the existing CIP policies in the Official Plan.  The effect of this amendment is to designate the entire Township as a Community Improvement Project Area and update the criteria associated with community improvements.

A key map has not been provided as the lands affected by OPA No. 13 (Application O-2018-01), are the entire Township of Laurentian Valley.

COPIES of the proposed amendment and any additional information relating to the proposed Official Plan Amendment (OPA No. 13), being Application File No. O-2018-01, are available for inspection during regular office hours at the Township Office.  Questions related to the application should be directed to Lauree Armstrong, Township Planner.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment.

If a person of public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the County of Renfrew (the Approval Authority) to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Laurentian Valley before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted or the County of Renfrew (the Approval Authority) before a decision is issued on the proposed Official Plan Amendment, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Laurentian Valley or the County of Renfrew before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted or the County of Renfrew (the Approval Authority) before a decision is issued on the proposed Official Plan Amendment, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the proposed Official Plan Amendment, you must make a written request to the Township of Laurentian Valley, Attention: Lauree Armstrong, Township Planner, 460 Witt Road, Pembroke, ON K8A 6W5 or by email at larmstrong@lvtownship.ca
