Community Development Officer

The Township of Laurentian Valley requires a Community Development Officer who will foster

Economic Community growth in the Township. The Community Development Officer will engage the community; participate in community planning initiatives; promote development opportunities; and create, organize, plan and encourage community events. This position requires a team player who is motivated, can build strong partnerships and is constantly pursing opportunities for growth. The Township of Laurentian Valley is searching for a dynamic individual to bring enthusiasm and perseverance and renewed excitement for recreation and economic growth in this growing community. Municipal experience and working with multiple stakeholders at once are preferred. A creative thinker with excellent visionary skills will thrive in this position.

Position Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Economic Development field, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in Economic Development and Recreation would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge in social media.
  • Able to attend workshops, conferences and night meetings.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in writing grant applications would be considered an asset.

Compensation: (2020 rates): $53,460.89 - $62,255.46 (35 hours per week, with OMERS and benefit package). Compensation under review.
