Information for Voters

Beginning January 2, 2014 nominations will be accepted at the Township of Laurentian Valley for the offices of:

  • Mayor - 1 position to be elected at large
  • Reeve - 1 position to be elected at large
  • Councillor - 5 positions to be elected at large

School Board Trustee Elections:

  • Trustee for Renfrew County District School Board (English Public) – 1 position elected at large

Area: Township of Laurentian Valley & Township of North Algona  Wilberforce

  • Trustee for Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (English Catholic) – 1 position elected at large

Area: Township of Laurentian Valley, Township of Admaston/Bromley, Township of North Algona Wilberforce & the Township of Bonnechere Valley

Who Can Vote?

A person is entitled to vote in the Township of Laurentian Valley municipal election if he or she on voting day:

 - Resides in the Township of Laurentian Valley, or is the owner or tenant of land in the Township of Laurentian Valley, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and

 - Is a Canadian citizen, and

 - Is at least 18 years old, and

 - Is not prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 or otherwise prohibited by law.
