Media Release - Laurentian Valley Geo-Gnoming Contest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                                                             July 16, 2018

The Township of Laurentian Valley is excited to announce the launch of Laurentian Valley’s Geo-Gnoming Contest beginning today Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 9:00 am.

The contest will take place over a 5 week period, from July 16 – August 20, 2018, where each Monday the LV GNOME will be placed on the grounds of one of Laurentian Valley’s parks and rec centres for a week.

The contest involves finding the gnome, taking a selfie with it and sending it to us either through Facebook (www.facebook.com/lvtownship.ca) or by email (info@lvtownship.ca).

There will be weekly prize giveaways and a grand prize of a kayak, paddle & life jacket (value of $550). To enter the draw for the grand prize participants must send the Township at least 4 selfies (so find the gnome 4 times). The LV Gnome will be hidden 5 times in total. The GRAND PRIZE DRAW will be on August 20, 2018 live on the Township’s Facebook page.

Each Monday the location LV GNOME and its coordinates will be posted on Township’s Facebook page. This week the LV GNOME is located on the grounds of Pleasant View Park. The LV GNOME will be at this location all week from July 16-22, 2018.

The contest is open to anyone and all ages.  You do not have to be a resident of Laurentian Valley to participate.

“I am very excited for the launch of this fun and engaging initiative.  It’s a unique opportunity to explore Laurentian Valley recreation facilities and encourage a stronger social connection though the Township’s Facebook page. “states Mayor Steve Bennett.
